The ammo can has always been the classic large geocache container. They are extremely popular in the US, and we always wondered why they didn't seem to have quite the same traction here in Australia. As a business, we soon discovered why! It's hard to find a reliable supplier for them, they're heavy and they cost a lot of money to ship around. Not to mention the occasional bomb scare due to their military markings. As a consumer, it's OK to pick up the odd one or two at an Army Surplus store, but we wanted to find a proper wholesale supplier, so that we could offer a consistent supply to our customers. 

Now, we have the answer! These containers have been produced as modern day replacements for the old UN standard ammo cans, and are starting to be used by military forces around the world. They're molded out of durable polypropylene plastic, have thick sidewalls and feature a reinforced bottom. They're water resistant, with a high quality O-ring seal, and have the modern equivalent of the old ammo can catch, with a heavy duty, two piece latch, as well as two padlock holes if you want to add a combination lock or similar feature to your cache. There is a handle recessed into the lid of the container, to make it easy to carry and remove from hidey holes, and the hinge is produced in three sections to give it added strength. 

They are large containers, with plenty room for logs, swaps, trackables etc. The plastic will accept paint readily, or they can be disguised using the camouflage tape we also sell.
